Dedicated; Devoted; Diversified
Since Hickory Ridge Log Homes started in 1998 we have been dedicated to building only full log homes. Hickory Ridge has grown into a very reputable Log Home Builder & General Contractor. We have satisfied customers in many areas of S.W. Wisconsin and outlying areas. We have been all or a part of 23 dream homes in 6 different states. Ranging from simple vacation homes to extravagant dream homes. We will continue to expand this growth and reputation.More and more future log home owners are asking for, or insisting on half log or log sided homes. Half logs are requested because of the higher R-value when installed over conventional framing. Although this system has a higher price per sq. ft. Log siding on the other hand has a lower cost per sq. ft. if installed only on the exterior. Real Log Homes® has always supplied log siding matching all of their log styles with all their full log homes. The Swedish Cope log siding is one of the best 1/2 log sidings in the industry, this is because of the way it is made. Because Real Log Homes® specializes in & promotes a full log system, when they make the siding it is just a full Swedish Cope log cut in half. This leaves a drip edge on all the horizontal joints. Most of the other 1/2 log systems are simply a flat on flat D-log fastened to the outside of conventional framing. All horizontal joints have to be caulked from the beginning to provide a water tight seal. The REAL™ Contour log siding has a ship-lap joint. False log corners are available for all of the siding profiles. Hickory Ridge Log Homes feels that the thermal mass; strength; functional use; and looks of a full log home is still the best home to build. But, for those who have their mind set and the budget to build a 1/2 log style home, or the budget allows for only a log sided home. Hickory Ridge has the resources & ability to provide exactly what you want. Another way to expand our growth & reputation!
Lighting contest-First place
George and Susan Downs are so proud of their new home that they lit it up for the whole area to see. George and Susan have a natural ability to decorate, and decorate they did. This last winter they entered it in the local Christmas Lighting contest and won First place. We are sure you will see much more of this REAL™log home in the future.
ANOTHER HAPPY CUSTOMER This letter was sent to the REAL LOG HOMES national office. Dear Michele, We just want to tell you how delighted we are with our new REAL LOG HOME™ in Brodhead, Wisconsin. Construction started last May and was completed in November. We have somewhat finished furnishing the house and plan to use it for a summer home and a winter getaway. Our Real Log Home is a custom Rockville model #10335. We designed the home with the help of our Real Log Home representative, Ray & Deb Gilden of Hickory Ridge Log Homes in Belleville, Wisconsin. We made several changes to the original plans. First we extended the loft over the dining area and added a shed dormer to the back of the house to give us more living space. Then we added a full basement which we are leaving unfinished for now. Our Real Log Home representatives, Ray & Deb Gilden was also our contractor and builder. Ray supervised every part of the construction process and was really a big help to us. We are very happy with the service we got from Ray and Deb and we would recommend Hickory Ridge Log Homes and Real Log Homes to anybody.

Jeff Weber (Same name; different customers) In 2003 we built a custom Dovetail with Cedar hand hewn logs for Jeff Weber in Mayville now we have another Jeff Weber. In February of this year Jeff Weber from Deerfield called my office looking for someone to repair some logs on the home they were living in. After visiting Jeff & Melanie we came to a decision as to what was needed to repair the logs. The biggest surprise was that they were selling this home (closing April 15) and looking for some one to build them a new log home. After several more visits and a couple of design changes, we had their new home planned and ready for production. The contract for a custom model was sent to the REAL LOG HOME® national office in early April. Blueprints were drawn with 1 set of changes and then rushed to production. Jeff & Melanie's new home was delivered on June 24. This home is a 9” Swedish cope with many beautiful options (too many to list). At the time of writing this article, we are in the final rough-in stage. Finishing work is scheduled to start about September 1st. If anyone is interested in seeing this home while under construction, contact us and we can show you through the home. A open house is in the planning for early October , 2005.
